What’s your story? National Association of Women Business Owners has 10.6 million of them.

by | Aug 11, 2010 | Placement Examples

The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is an organization in the United States founded in 1975 for the purpose of networking the approximately 10.6 million women-owned businesses so as to provide mutual support, share resources, and provide a single voice to help shape economic and public policy.

“Women are now major players in the world’s economic, social and political arenas. Woman-owned businesses employ more than three million people across the U.S.,” says NAWBO-MN President Jennifer Brigham.

When talking with the media, we position NAWBO as an organization with savvy, intelligent and successful business entrepreneurs representing all industries. As a result, we are securing media placements in business, lifestyle and women’s interest stories.

A recent Star Tribune business section article featured NAWBO entrepreneur Heather Manley.

The story focused on Heather’s NAWBO 2009 Young Business Award winner and her company, On Demand Group.

The article, “ Networking her way through the recession”  outlined Heather’s business plan to make sure her company was one of the first to benefit from the recovery.

Her strategy included stepping up her already active practice of networking with women’s business organizations, potential clients and consultants.

We positioned NAWBO’s messaging within the story and added a human interest angle with Heather’s personal history and unique business strategy. This captured the media’s attention!
