Orlando TV news publicity gives client air time to show haircut trends

Florida publicity, Media Relations

This WESH TV news segment, which aired in the Orlando TV market, is a good example of how we use the latest trends and local connections to make a story idea timely and relevant for the media. We arranged for the hair salon’s Central Florida general manager to appear in studio to discuss and demonstrate the hot new looks for summer.

Relying on one story angle or an “evergreen” story (even if it’s been working well), can be a big PR mistake. I know that each time I pick up the phone to talk with producers and reporters, I’d better have a new and interesting reason why a client’s story should be slotted into a specific spot in their schedule. Admittedly, this keeps us on our toes because we’re constantly brainstorming new angles and ideas for our clients.

Offering up someone who lives and works in their community is also an advantage. The news media, in particular, prefers to feature hometown experts.

Feel free to call me at 507-382-1296 if you want this type of creative thinking applied to your PR activities.
