Why partnering with an established agency matters

Established Agency

You’d be surprised how many clients we’ve gotten over the last 35 years because the agency they were working with went out of business. They come to us with half-done projects and there’s no way to get hold of the agency that was working on it. Often they chose their agency because of its low prices. But low prices are often a signal of desperation and that there is trouble on the horizon.

It’s common knowledge that many agencies are short lived. Colleges crank out “marketing experts” by the thousands, and a bunch of them think they have what it takes to start and run an agency. Making payroll and paying the bills while keeping everyone happy and eking out a profit is a tough and neverending slog. It takes a certain breed of cat.

As someone who built a nice agency filled with talented people, and has kept it vibrant for over three decades, I can tell you it’s not easy.

No agency is going to let you know when they are on the verge of going out of business. There were plenty of times during our early years when I was hoping on Monday I’d be able to make payroll on Friday. I didn’t get on the phone and warn our customers. I learned to survive by doing things like not paying myself, working long hours, and being way too demanding of our staff.

There are many reasons to use our agency such as experienced talent, a track record of success and our connections. But there are none as important as our ability to stay in business and see your project through. We’ve been around for a long time and we are going to be around a lot longer.  Industry surveys report that a mere 8% of our peers have also reached this 30-to-39 year milestone. That’s a good reason to hire us as your agency.

He complains of a stomach ache a lot and I don’t think he likes school much either.”
