What could this type of media coverage do for your product or service?

by | Mar 29, 2011 | Advice & Tips

As a publicist, The Spring 50+ PrimeTime Living Expo (formerly the Seniors Spring Show) provides me with endless story angles and a wide variety of media outlets to pursue. Some angles are better suited for broadcast TV and radio segments, while others work well for print, such as local newspapers.

For example, the Ms. Senior Minnesota Pageant takes place in conjunction with the 8th annual Spring 50+ PrimeTime Living Expo. The media has covered the pageant from a local perspective, with print coverage of their area’s contestants, including a feature story in Rochester Post Bulletin, the home town of two contestants.

I am working with the major TV stations for in-studio segments featuring members of The Senior America Cameo Club. Its members are former Senior America Pageant participants who volunteer to perform for nursing homes, veteran’s and children’s hospitals, and other community and charitable organizations. The TV segment would include a performance by the Minnesota Cameo Club and an interview with the reigning Queen.

The Spring 50+ PrimeTime Living Expo will also feature a presentation by Better Business Bureau Senior Outreach Program Manager, Gary Johnson, and this week we are arranging for him to be interviewed by several radio stations. Gary’s interview with WIXK-AM focused on ways senior can avoid being targeted by scam artists.

Tapping the expertise and appeal of the businesses involved with our seniors expos enables me to keep the story fresh and appealing to the media.
