Time sensitive! 2022 holiday shopping trends

by | Aug 18, 2022 | Advice & Tips

Person carrying holiday shopping bags

One 2022 holiday shopping trend some experts are predicting is that people will start shopping earlier than ever. Faced with higher costs and tighter budgets, consumers will be doing more comparison shopping. If you wait much longer to start your holiday PR, it may be too late to influence buyers’ decisions.

Unlike paid ads, media stories give you the space to talk about your product’s features and benefits. You also get the halo effect of the media’s third-party endorsement. (The Goop Holiday Gift Guide and Oprah’s Favorite Things List are examples of this concept on steroids!)

The bottom line: We all want to give (and receive) gifts that are on-trend and in-demand. Being featured as a hot new gift item may really boost your sales.

The secret is to share your story with reporters and list-makers now, in the summer. The media, particularly editors of longer lead outlets  – print and digital magazines and newspapers – are already making their plans.

Media Relations Agency knows how to get this coveted publicity

We’ve been doing it for decades and we have the connections. Our publicists have been working with some of these trend-setting reporters for ages. That’s why so many companies depend on us to get featured in these sales-boosting stories and guides.

We’ll use our creativity and experience to get the media excited about your product. We can help reporters, editors and producers understand why your product is perfect for their audiences. We won’t stop once we get you into a story or guide. We’ll work to create a louder buzz.

We’ll leverage early-season media coverage to earn you even more exposure. This may really send your year-end sales through the roof.

But we need time to craft a quality, professional campaign. If you wait much longer to call us, it may be a scramble to get your story aired or published in time for the first big wave of holiday shopping.

My best advice: Pick up the phone right now and call us at 952-697-5269. Let’s get the ball rolling. Remember, it’s in our mutual best interest to earn attention for your product during the 2022 holiday buying season.

Our publicists have great instincts because they all have media backgrounds. When things get hectic, it’s often Heather who cracks the first joke. “We encourage people to be a little goofy and unique. Some of the best ideas and solutions emerge because we know how to have fun,” she grins. “I may say something like, “Remember this is PR not the ER. Now, lighten up and go book a great story idea with the media!”
