How to make your product famous

Team of reporters showing how to make your product famous

Brevity is the enemy of sales. The old saying, “The more you tell, the more you sell” still holds true. That’s because when someone wants something, their appetite for information about what they want shoots way up.

Our agency offers two services that will help you deliver a more complete message about your product.

The first is something we call an embedded reporter. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes of products that would be interesting to people who want to purchase them. Many times, these stories go unrecognized by the people who work within the organization. We assign an experienced journalist to tease these stories out for you.

Journalists and marketers are two different breeds of cat. Journalists care more about creating a story that resonates with an audience than they do about selling your product. At first, that might sound counterintuitive if you are trying to sell something. But isn’t that what you really want: to connect in a meaningful way with your prospects? It’s easy for us to then add the price, phone number and website when they have finished writing their story.

The second way we help clients tell a more complete story is closely related to the content our journalists create. We assign a publicist to a product, just like you would assign a publicist to a celebrity. Their job is to get the journalist’s nice long stories in front of as many people as possible, as often as possible. The publicist’s goal is to make that product famous. And a product isn’t famous if only a handful of people know about it.

While we offer a full array of marketing services, we have never been a traditional agency. It’s the tens-of-thousands of media stories we have arranged over the last 35 years that flow through our clients’ marketing channels that make us different. We are all about having the time and space to fully explain our clients’ products. It goes back to what I said at the beginning of this letter: The more you tell, the more you sell.

If you sometimes feel your product is a best-kept secret, you should call our agency at 952-697-5269 or contact us here. We’ll get our journalists writing stories about your product and get our publicists working to make it famous. We deliver a heckuva one-two punch you won’t get from other agencies.

P.S. Many companies hire an agency because they happen to be close by. That’s not a good measure of their capabilities. When you call us, make sure to ask whoever you talk to for a free copy of my Amazon best-selling book, “The CEOs Guide to Marketing”. Leaf through it. It will make you comfortable that we are seasoned marketing experts, not just your average agency down the block.

He complains of a stomach ache a lot and I don’t think he likes school much either.”
