How to get publicity for your business

How to get publicity for your business

Media coverage is one of the most effective and least expensive ways to promote your business. This makes getting booked for media interviews one of your most important marketing tasks. If you’re stymied by how to get publicity for your business, keep reading! As one of the country’s leading performance-based marketing agencies, Media Relations Agency is revealing three tactics you should try in 2019.

    1. Polish your story. Publicity is storytelling. Each time you approach a reporter or producer, your story is competing for attention with thousands of others. Draw in the reader with a hook and remember that every good story is well-rounded with information beyond your product. Using Media-Grade Content® will further improve the impact and credibility of your brand marketing content.
    2. Get personal. We don’t use wire services because too many of those stories get buried in the heap. It’s far better to customize your pitch to the individual media outlet and its audience. This is how our publicists – most of whom are former journalists – have developed trusted relationships with their media contacts. And it’s how we can guarantee results with our Pay Per Interview® pricing model.
    3. Build your media coverage library. Unless reporters are already familiar with you, one of the first things they will do is research your business on the internet. Make sure the messaging on your website is consistent with what you’re telling them and that you’ve posted all previous media coverage! If reporters discover that numerous positive news stories have already run about you, it instantly increases your credibility and appeal. We also recommend getting publicity in several different types of media outlets using a variety of perspectives.

Media stories enable you to deliver your message to tens or even hundreds of thousands of people. How much would you pay to tell your story to a stadium filled with 30,000 people? Media coverage is a bargain by comparison.

Arranging product publicity is a lot of fun! We would enjoy helping you get more publicity for your business. We have our Strategically Aimed Marketing process in place, developed over more than 30 years. We can arrange news stories that run locally, regionally and nationally. Because we’re paid for results, we’re not going to promise you more than we can deliver. Call us at 952-697-5269 or complete this form.

I’m fortunate to have a very diverse background, which gives me a good perspective whenever we bring on a new client.” An IABC- and Mercury-award winner, Robin says her practical experience in the health sciences has proven particularly beneficial as she interprets clients’ scientific information for mainstream media. “But it’s no longer sufficient to write well,” she cautions. “As marketers, we must now comply with the intricacies of digital marketing. That involves a whole set of rules, which are constantly evolving.”
