Greetings from Malaysia, and PINC 2011

by | May 17, 2011 | Advice & Tips, Company News

I am honored that I was asked to present the only non-scientific session during the Palm International Nutra-Cosmeceutical Conference 2011 / Bioactives for a Healthy Lifestyle (PINC 2011). The two-day event, being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is attended by leading palm tocotrienol (vitamin E) scientific researchers and product formulators.

My presentation, Palm Bioactives: Igniting Awareness, Communicating Advancements through Innovations, will help the PINC 2011 attendees understand the process of using traditional and social media to teach the public about bioactives. What are the best ways to communicate information? How many times does the public need to hear this information before they understand the value and begin purchasing?

I will share some of the good media news that palm fruit bioactives are generating thanks to the work of our Media Relations team, and review the various emerging markets where interest in palm oil bioactives is growing.

I have worked with bioactives and branded ingredient technologies for more than 20 years, promoting a wide range of products from tomato lycopene and grape seed extract to plant sterols. Palm bioactives are one of the most exciting nutritional breakthroughs I’ve seen. They are loaded with antioxidants and I am meeting the scientists who are exploring their use for everything from stroke damage protection to radiation protection, prostate cancer and skin care. Participating in PINC 2011 is truly exciting!
