Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer Robin Kocina has been named to the Top Women in Finance Circle of Excellence, by Finance & Commerce Magazine. Women chosen to the Circle of Excellence are among the Twin Cities’ top achievers honored by this year’s Top Women in Finance Awards.
Finance & Commerce Editor Casey Selix writes, “The honors — and an event that now attracts several hundred attendees — recognize the outstanding efforts of women in Minnesota who are making notable contributions to their professions, their communities and society at large. Four of the women are two-time honorees and are now in the Circle of Excellence. Honorees are selected by Finance & Commerce staff.”
In her dual roles as COO and CFO, Kocina manages the financial security for both Media Relations Agency and Checkerboard Strategic Web Development. It is under her leadership that the companies are in a growth pattern despite lingering problems in the national economy. She works closely with our leadership team not only to manage the breadth of products and services but also to encourage the personal growth of each employee.
Kocina is a long-time advocate for women in business, and serves as a role model as well as a mentor for people both inside and outside of her companies. Her efforts involve the commitment of significant time and resources. Her passion is helping others to achieve their full potential, something she does through her extensive volunteer work. In doing so, she has become an empowering role model for those around her.
“As rewarding as my volunteer experiences have been, nothing compares to the pride I feel when I see people at my company inspired to reach out and take leadership roles in helping their own communities,” she says.
