Congratulations to the hardworking folks at Clothes Mentor, for whom we arranged their first live TV interview on Fox 9 in Minneapolis-St. Paul this week. They did a great segment on trendy holiday fashions that won’t bust your budget. Our media training with the spokesperson paid off because the reporter doing the interview was obviously having a great time!
Clothes Mentor is a women’s fashions resale store with many locations around the Twin Cities. Shoppers can get cash on the spot for their like-new clothing and accessories that are just sitting in their closets, then update their wardrobes with current styles and trends at a fraction of mall prices.
This week, Clothes Mentor gave TV viewers some great tips and ideas on dressing for that holiday office party, annual family Christmas get-together or a hot night on the town. They brought in models to demonstrate how to piece together clothes and accessories to make you stand out of the crowd.
As with anyone appearing on TV for the first time, the Clothes Mentor employee was nervous about her big debut. TV isn’t easy after all! We took the time before the interview to help walk her through the process, understand what kind of questions to expect, show her how to make sure the segment flowed smoothly, and how to let viewers know where to find more information about Clothes Mentor. We wanted to make sure she represented her company well.
So what are some of their big tips? First off, think red! It’s a hot color this time of year. Forget the little black dress, this time of year go for the little red dress. Is red not exactly in your preferred color wheel? You can easily splash smaller amounts of it in your outfit with shoes, clutch purse or big necklace.
Here’s another idea especially for those of us in the snow-covered states— stay warm with faux fur. For your casual events, pair a faux fur-trimmed sweater with your favorite pair of dark washed jeans, and for your more formal events, use this trend as outerwear.
