Tailoring seasonal angles scores big with national magazines

by | Aug 4, 2010 | Placement Examples

Our clients’ stories are fresh with a new, newsworthy appeal when we add seasonal angles to appeal to national magazines.

We research editorial calendars to determine the story ideas that editors will be looking for then tailor our client messaging for a successful placement. Seasonal angles are a great tie-in.

For example, many magazines will run summer beauty sections featuring UV protection for skin health in their June through August issues.

We can encourage editors to position our client Lyc-O-Mato in any UV protection story as an interesting “what’s new” because we have the scientific research and experts to support a great story.  Whether the magazine opts to feature Lyc-O-Mato by highlighting the science, quoting the expert or within its product profile section, we provide the content.

We successfully positioned Lyc-O-Mato within a story concept: “Eat and Drink Your Way to Sun-Protected Skin” in the latest issue of national magazine, Better Nutrition.  We used published research to add credibility to our story. The article focused on a study that showed healthy adults who consumed 5 to 10 milligrams may reduce skin damage from UV radiation.

The science appeals to the editors, and their readers like the idea of a supplement providing sun protection and helping to prevent premature aging.

This was a perfect seasonal tie-in for the skin health and UV protection messaging.
