Editors love it! 50+ Strut Your Stuff talent contest is big news

by | Aug 31, 2011 | Advice & Tips

When you are tasked with publicizing an 11-year-old event that has been featured prominently in the news each year, you need to capitalize on what’s new and relevant. And with talent shows dominating reality TV these days, what could be more newsworthy than the search for Minnesota’s next 50+ superstar?

Editors love the story of the 50+ Strut Your Stuff talent contest, which will take place during the 50+ PrimeTime Living Expo, October 4-5, 2011 at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, MN. Local newspapers such as the Shakopee Valley News, Belle Plaine Herald, and Prior Lake American jumped on the story by running feature articles calling for contestants.

The 50+ Strut Your Stuff talent contest is open to all Minnesota residents who reached their 50th birthday by August 1, 2011, and only amateurs may enter. The winner will receive two tickets on Sun Country Airlines. To heighten interest, we are providing exciting highlights from last year’s event for editors, which featured everything from opera to a woman who danced on her head to Wipe Out. What’s not to love about this story whether your 25 or 75?

Editors are anxiously awaiting updates on the local contestants and the variety of unusual and exciting talents they will be performing.

With more than a month before a winner is named, our publicists will continue contacting the media with updates on the search for Minnesota’s next 50+ superstar.
