How to get TV publicity for a new cookbook

by | Aug 6, 2014 | Placement Examples

publicity for cookbook

I can’t even guess how many cookbooks are published in the U.S. each year, but I know it’s a lot! What’s the best way to use TV publicity to draw attention to just one of them? Here’s my recipe. My ingredients start with a well-spoken chef who is passionate about his message, then I spice it up with a topical angle, mouth-watering ingredients and a recipe that even the most time-starved viewers can prepare.

Preparation starts with calling our contacts at the major TV stations in the markets where we want coverage. Other tools for cooking up a great segment include providing both the chef and the TV host with media-grade talking points.

I love this recipe because it gives me consistently good results, such as this segment that ran on KUSI’s Good Morning San Diego. Our team also provided the media-grade content that appears below the video. Now when the client posts and shares the video, it will be found even more easily by the search engines. And when visitors land on the page, they’ll see messaging that reinforces the client’s value points.

If you’d like us to whip up TV placements like this one for your product, all it takes is a phone call to 952-697-5269 to get the process started.
